The Diversity Committee of the PTAB Bar Association and Intellectual Property Law Association of Chicago (IPLAC) are co-hosting a Chicago Meet Up on September 24 from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the River Point Conference Center, Chicago, IL.
This event will feature four student debaters from Chicago Public Schools in a short debate on the 2024-25 national debate topic: whether the U.S federal government should significantly strengthen its protection of domestic intellectual property (IP) rights in copyrights, patents, and/or trademarks.
Chicago Debates has been preparing students for the debate topic, and representatives of this organization will be attending this event.

- Network with area practitioners as well as representatives from multiple organizations, including ADAPT.legal, Intellectual Property Owners Educational Foundation (IPOEF), IPLAC, and the PTAB Bar Association.
- Experience DEIA in action as illustrated by the high school debaters, and
- Learn about the upcoming PTAB Bar Association Thought Leader Summit on Thursday, October 10, 2024. This year’s event will be a unique bi-coastal experience, held simultaneously at the USPTO offices in Alexandria, Virginia (1:30pm-5:30pm ET) and San Jose, California (10:30am-2:30pm PT).
