This thirty (30) minute webinar will focus on the recent Supreme Court decision in Loper v. Raimondo, which ended the doctrine of Chevron deference to agency interpretations of ambiguous statutes.  Much has been written and said about Loper since it came out in late June.  The webinar will survey and summarize a wide variety of perspectives and prognostications for how Loper is expected to impact the USPTO and the broader patent system.

Speakers:
Patrick Maloney, an Attorney at Armond Wilson, is nationally recognized for his experience representing clients before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB). To date, Patrick has handled over 150 post-grant proceedings, including inter partes reviews (IPRs) and covered business method review (CBMs), spanning a wide variety of technologies including telecommunications, networking, electronics, antennas, streaming media, and medical devices.
 
Theo Foster, a Partner at Haynes Boone, focuses his practice on inter partes review trials before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board, and appeals from IPRs to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
